Seether announce the 3rd annual Rise Above Fest featuring some of the biggest names in rock coming together in support of suicide prevention and mental illness. The 2015 line-up includes Godsmack, Seether, Slash ft. Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators, Papa Roach, All That Remains, Butcher Babies and more to be announced with proceeds going to SAVE (Suicide Awareness Voices of Education).
The festival will return to Darling’s Waterfront Pavilion in Bangor, Maine on Saturday, May 9th, 2015 as part of the 2015 Machias Savings Bank Concert Series.
Tickets go on sale to the general public beginning this Friday, December 12th at 10am.
The festival’s name is taken from the song, “Rise Above This,” which Seether front man Shaun Morgan wrote as a message to his brother. His brother took his own life seven years ago before he ever got a chance to hear it and it was that experience that brought about the creation of Rise Above Fest. The inaugural event was held over Labor Day weekend 2012 in Gilford, NH and raised nearly $20k for the New Hampshire chapter of NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness). The 2014 festival was held in Bangor, ME and raised approximately $50k for SAVE.
“When we initially imagined the Rise Above Fest, I never thought it would grow this quickly or raise the incredible amount of money and awareness it already has. I didn’t think we could top last year’s event, but this year’s lineup pretty much guarantees it. The fact that all of these awesome artists can get together and put on a great show for such an important cause still blows my mind. Taking a tragedy and being able to turn it into a meaningful event year after year is something I will never take for granted.” says Seether frontman Shaun Morgan
